Music News from Gabriel Evans

Dear Congregation of Union Church,

It is with heavy heart that I inform you that I have resigned as Director of Music Ministries effective August 12, 2018. My fiancé, Joseph, and I have had a wonderful opportunity for both of us to move to New York City, and have chosen to take it. He will be working at NYU in the Career Development Center. While I do not have plans thus far, I am hopeful that I will be in a similar position at one of the colleges there. I also plan to substitute at as many churches as possible, and perhaps acquire a church position or teaching music.

Please know that this was an extremely tough decision to make, as Berea and Union Church have been a wonderful home for over four years. I am certain that the music program here will continue to thrive and be just as wonderful as it’s been under new leadership. I am so thankful for the opportunity that you have allowed me to lead this amazing church family. While I am saddened that I must got, I will always be forever grateful knowing that you all have left a place in my heart.
