Like to Sing? New Community Choir forming!!
Larry Brandenburg, Union Church Director of Music, is organizing a new community-based mixed chorus, the BEREA CLASSIC CHORALE. Organizational meetings are planned for Sunday, Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Choir Room at Union Church, Berea, KY (across from Boone Tavern). Interested singers are encouraged to come to either of these meetings. The choir is open to male and female singers over the age of 18, and will rehearse on Monday evenings at Union Church in preparation for a Spring Concert (TBA).
The choir will sing a variety of great choral music, with an emphasis on unaccompanied works. Music from the Renaissance and Baroque eras, plus 20-21st century compositions will be well represented. Smaller works from the Romantic period, folk-based songs, hymns, spirituals and world music will “round out” the programming. If you are a choral singer, come check us out.
