Berea City Council Proposes Adding the Position of Chaplain
An opportunity to participate in our Berea city government You are invited to attend the Berea City Council meeting this Tuesday, August 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Public comment will be received beginning at 6:30 regarding a proposed Order revising the current policy & procedure of offering invocations – which had invited prayers by volunteers from many faith traditions before City Council Meetings – and establishing the office of Chaplain, with a compensation to be paid by the City, and to be filled by Rev. Kevin Slemp, who will lead the prayers at each meeting. In the event he is unable, a member of City Council will lead the prayer, who will also be compensated. If you’d like to offer your views on this proposed change you can send a group email: citycouncil@bereaky.gov OR contact City Council members individually:
