WEATHER ADVISORY: Snow may have blanketed the city, but the church is dry and warm and services will proceed as planned. That said, please make safe and careful decisions about coming as weather conditions are due to be very cold and there may be more snow. If you can’t make it to the Wed. Night Live supper or to the Ash Wednesday service, those who do come will be holding you in prayer and light.

Wednesday Night Live Soup Supper 5:45

In keeping with our Lenten simplicity, there will be a reduced soup and bread menu as we enter the 40 days of lent. Though the meal will be simpler, it will still be hearty and surrounded with the company of fellow lenten travelers.

Ash Wednesday Service, Cowan Chapel, 7pm

Many Christians mark the beginning of the journey toward Easter with a cross of ashes placed on either the forehead or hand. The ashes remind us that not all in life has gone well, that many things are yet broken, but that the wearer is taking steps toward wholeness and resurrection. We make the ashes from the palm branches saved from last year’s Holy Week celebration of Palm Sunday to connect the cycle and renew our hope.

Join us in this special service of marking our commitment to walk the difficult roads. Rev. Kent and Rev. Rachel will lead the service in Cowan Chapel which can be reached by descending the stairs from the office level near the main classroom, or from the outside parking area, following the sidewalk between Union Church and Kettering Residence Hall.
