Hope and Help for Ferguson

Zoe Wilcher, member of our youth group discovered that because of the riots in Ferguson, the schools were closed. She learned that this meant that thousands of children who rely on the lunch and breakfast programs at those schools were going to go hungry and that several churches in the area were banding together to meet the need. Zoe heard a call and asked our pastor’s “why couldn’t we help those churches?” And of course, she was right. There’s no reason at all. Today in worship we raised over $600 thanks to Zoe and there’s still more that can be done! If you’d like to help the churches we’ve identified, make your check payable to Union Church with “Ferguson” in the memo line. Far from being powerless, Zoe and all who act in the face of need, remind us what our faith is about: not resignation but transformation. Little by irresistible little!
