Work Team Finishes Their Labors (And Plays a Bit, Too!)
Our mission team in Biloxi, MS at Back Bay Mission have finished their work! Here’s their latest report from Rev. Rachel.
It is finished! (Well, our part, anyway.) We ultimately worked on three different houses: one that was being repaired after a fire, and two that were being flipped to sell to low-income buyers. Our team built shelves, cleaned windows and awnings, caulked and painted, and became screen-repairing experts (the Screen Team!). We also did more work in the Micah Center for homeless men and women, and the food bank.
On our day off, we visited our friend and church member Gerald’s new house, went to the beach, and ate some delicious seafood. We also got intensely involved in a puzzle that kept the teamwork going late into the night. All work and no play would make us dull, you know…
We also had a chance to celebrate Back Bay Mission’s 90th Anniversary! Their work over the decades has been amazingly faithful, creative, and adaptive to the times. We were all inspired and look forward to sharing it with you
We’d love your prayers for our journey home. The way down here was full of storms; we hope to have a calmer return trip! Thanks for your support!
