According to a recent news release by Kentucky Youth Advocates, more than 1 in 4 Kentucky children live in families with incomes below $22,350 a year for a family of four (federal poverty guideline). This data is from the new Census Bureau American Community Survey released last week. High school and college students in Danville, in collaboration with other organizations, are planning a rally the day before the Vice Presidential debate to draw attention to issues of poverty and hunger.
If you are interested in participating in the rally and would like to carpool with others from Union Church, just let the church office know.
