While everyone was a winner at the Quilt and Fiber Extravaganza this summer, there were a few “official” winners! Jo Wernegreen took top honors for Viewer’s Choice of Favorite Quilt!

Stephanie Runyan, ceramic artist, has been accepted into the Arts Accelerator Program, Gallery 123.

Condolences to George Mountjoy, Brandy and all the family, at the death of Loretta Mountjoy on August 8. Loretta was a former director of Woman’s Industrial and church member for many years.

We grieve with the Robertson family at the news of Don‘s death August 27. Rev. Rachel will officiate at a memorial service Saturday, Sept. 2, at 1 pm. Visitation Saturday at noon, both at Reppert Funeral Home. Don Robertson obituary link.

A Celebration of Andy Blyth’s life will be held on Sept. 3, 2 -4 pm in the Sanctuary, and feature numerous local musicians in a lively and memorable musical tribute to our favorite minstrel, Andy Blyth, who passed away July 27th.

This is a Community Celebration and everyone is welcome and encouraged to come early and bring a snack to share. A free-will offering will be taken up to benefit Union Church (sound system) and also WoodSongs Front Porch Association which encourages music in the schools and live local music. Many thanks to Dorie Hubbard and Cheryl Payne, both of whom have agreed to serve on the Mission Board. They were elected at the Church Council meeting on August 28. Thanks be to God for these strong hearts!
